RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Former Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling plans to give $15,000 to the Republican Party of Virginia.

The party announced Monday that the funds would help underwrite an overhaul of the party’s website and other technological infrastructure prior to November’s election.

Bolling says he had a strained relationship with his party during the 2013 gubernatorial campaign, when he thought the party was veering away from the mainstream. Bolling was outmuscled in his expected bid for governor by conservative supporters of Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, who lost in the general election.

But Bolling says he believes the party is working to be to be more welcoming and inclusive.

The state GOP reported having $28,000 cash on hand at the end of March.
