Embattled owner of the Los Angeles Clippers Donald Sterling has contacted at least two major law firms since the National Basketball Association suspended him last week over racist comments he made during a recorded conversation, according to a report by TMZ.
The website that leaked the first recording of Mr. Sterling’s conversation with V. Stiviano is now reporting that the billionaire has contacted law firm Glaser Weil — the same team that celebrity chef Paula Deen hired to defend her in the Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House case.
Mr. Sterling has also contacted “mega-firm” Quinn Emanuel Urquhart and Sullivan, which specializes in business litigation, TMZ reported.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver fined Mr. Sterling $2.5 million and banned him for life from the league. The NBA and the Clippers are currently working to find the franchise a new CEO.
