POTSDAM, N.Y. (AP) - President Barack Obama is set to nominate the president of Clarkson University for the advisory board of the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corp.
The government-owned corporation operates and maintains the St. Lawrence Seaway between the Port of Montreal and Lake Erie. The five-member advisory board is appointed by the president to review the corporation’s policies and make recommendations.
Collins said Friday he’s honored by the nomination and views the seaway as a “globally significant strategic asset” for international trade and recreation.
