Sen. Al Franken said on ABC’s “This Week” that his job as a lawmaker has been so “impeccable” that he wouldn’t have anything to make fun of himself if he were still a comedian on “Saturday Night Live.”
Interviewer Jeff Zeleny asked the Minnesota Democrat and former funnyman what his former self would satirize of himself now.
“When I would make fun of politicians, it was only because they were screwing up in some way,” Mr. Franken responded. “I don’t think I could find anything, frankly.”
“Nothing?” Mr. Zeleny asked.
“That would be a really hard subject to satirize,” Mr. Franken said. “I’ve just been impeccable.”
“Impeccable?” Mr. Zeleny asked.
“Yeah,” the senator said, laughing. “I’ve made some small mistakes, I suppose.”
