PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix has reached its hottest temperature so far this year.
The National Weather Service says the city reached 100 degrees for the first time Saturday afternoon.
Meteorologist Dan Leins says the high temperature rose to 102 briefly.
Leins says the entire Southwest region is seeing warmer temperatures this weekend.
According to past data, Phoenix on average heats up to the 100-degree mark in early May.
Leins says Sunday is also predicted to see a high of 100 degrees.
But then temperatures will drop to the mid-90s on Monday and into the upper-80s on Tuesday.
