SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) - The family of an Ohio man who spent three decades buying up 1936 Fords is planning to sell off much of his collection.

Emery Ward owned 21 of the 22 models that the Ford Motor Co. made in 1936. He died seven years ago and his family has decided it’s not time to part with his cars.

They plan to sell 30 cars in all at an auction May 16-17 at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Sandusky.

Ward’s four sons tell the Sandusky Register (https://bit.ly/1nbwTVr ) that their father traveled all over the country searching for 1936 Fords. He was drawn to that year because his car was a ’36 Ford.

They say their father bought cars that were in rough shape and then fixed them up.
