CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Lowcountry writers are sharing their tales about motherhood a week before mom’s big day.

Fifteen writers will read their stories about motherhood at Charleston’s Footlight Players Theater on Sunday. The proceeds from the show go to Charleston’s postpartum support organization.

The show is part of the national program Listen to Your Mother which was started in Madison, Wisconsin, back in 2010. Since then it has grown to a national series of readings nationwide.

This year the readings are being held in 32 cities. It’s the first year a show has been held in Charleston.
