LOS ANGELES (AP) - Firefighters are battling a five-acre brush fire in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles but homes are no longer threatened by the blaze.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says the fire broke out about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in parkland west of Avenida de Santa Ynez.
Humphrey says the fire initially threatened homes but firefighters got that section of the blaze under control.
About 200 firefighters and three helicopters are fighting the fire northwest of Santa Monica.
No injuries were immediately reported, and no structures were damaged.
