ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition is planning several events to celebrate National Bike Month during May.

The events include contests and breakfasts and a ride-along with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

Several events are planned for May 16, which is national bike to work day.

“Atlanta Streets Alive” is set for May 18 on Peachtree Street, where a stretch of the thoroughfare will be closed to cars but open to people and bikes.

A bike ride with the mayor from Atlanta City Hall to the Atlanta Jazz Festival in Piedmont Park is set for May 24.
