TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Ohio officials are looking into selling a state-owned office tower in Toledo that houses government offices.
State officials have talked with the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority about selling the building to the agency. The office tower houses city, county, and state offices in Toledo.
The potential sale comes as city leaders in Toledo are upset with state over a proposal to double the rent.
A spokesman with the governor’s office tells The Blade newspaper in Toledo that the state isn’t trying to divest itself of property. He says the potential sale is being explored to appease those who aren’t happy with the situation.
Port authority board members say they are looking into how much maintenance costs might be if the building is sold.
