BEGGS, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says it’s been asked to investigate a shooting involving a member of a U.S. Marshals Task Force.

The shooting occurred Friday along Highway 75 between Okmulgee and Tulsa near the Duck Creek Casino in Beggs when the task force tried to stop a vehicle driven by a man wanted for murder. The OSBI says a task force member opened fire when the suspect tried to run over a Tulsa police officer who was a part of the task force.

The agency says the suspect was not hit, but stopped the vehicle and fled on foot before being arrested. No injuries were reported.

The OSBI says its investigative report will be given to the district attorney when completed.
