SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a body found in a central New Jersey lake may be that of a man who went missing earlier this week.

South Brunswick police tell the Home News Tribune (https://mycj.co/Sm0ctu ) that the body was found around 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Lake Farrington in South Brunswick.

The death is not considered suspicious at this time. But it’s still not clear how the man ended up in the water or how long he had been there before he was found.

Authorities say a formal identification was not expected to be made until at least Sunday, when the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office is scheduled to perform an autopsy.

The missing man was last seen during the day on Wednesday, and police found his car that night.
