LAS VEGAS (AP) - Investigators say they still don’t know what prompted a reclusive 63-year-old Henderson man to arm himself and ride his motorcycle last August to a traffic accident roadblock, where he was shot and killed during a shootout with police.

Edward Scheboth Jr. was described during a public airing of the investigation on Friday as a hoarder of books, mementos and almost 180 guns in a fortified Henderson home not far from the scene of the Aug. 20 shootout at Boulder Highway and College Drive.

Henderson police detective Chad Mitchell noted that police also found competitive shooting trophies in the house.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1keBgiE ) that Scheboth shot multiple times at officers Patricia Longworth, Achim Brunette, Jason Dunn and Travis Nusbaum before he was shot in the head and killed.
