When it comes to chivalry, men in Washington, D.C., are tops — well, nearly.

The capital town took the No. 2 slot in a list of American’s 10 most chivalrous cities, bested only by Dallas, Texas.

The dating website SeekingMillionaire.com polled more than 32,000 users to gauge which city provided the best-mannered population, CBS DC reported.

Some of the other cities on the list: San Jose, California; Salt Lake City, Utah; Seattle, Washington; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Denver, Colorado; and Nashville, Tennessee.

“Honoring traditional gender roles isn’t a step back for progress,” said Brandon Wade, the site’s founder and CEO, in CBS DC. “Courting a woman should be more of an art and less a means to an end.”
