COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Former Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jody Shelley will take over as color analyst on the team’s televised games.

He takes the place of Bill Davidge, who has been in the booth since the team’s inaugural season in 2000-2001. Davidge will be a studio analyst and host during intermissions and before and after games.

Shelley, who holds the franchise record for penalty minutes, played 12 years in the NHL, most of them with the Blue Jackets before leaving in 2008.

In other news, the Blue Jackets have signed forward Daniel Zaar to a three-year, entry-level contract. The 20-year-old Swede was Columbus’ fifth pick, 152nd overall, in the 2012 draft.
