BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Michael A. McRobbie has concluded the first official visit by a standing Indiana University president to Vietnam.
The trip included two days of meetings with educational and governmental officials and IU alumni.
During the trip, McRobbie met with members of Vietnam’s National Assembly and officials from Vietnam National University-Hanoi.
He also met with U.S. Ambassador David Shear.
McRobbie says IU has a long history of involvement in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.
In addition to visiting Vietnam, McRobbie and the rest of the IU delegation traveled to Japan, Singapore and China and will visit with alumni in Hong Kong before returning to Indiana.
