ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Hijra won the $58,000 feature for fillies and mares by 1½ lengths at Santa Anita on Friday.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Ireland-bred Hijra ran 1 1/8 miles on the downhill turf course in 1:47.88 and paid $5.60, $3.60 and $2.80 as the 9-5 favorite in the field of eight. She finished third in her U.S. debut on April 25 on the same course.

Marcyjane returned $9.60 and $5.40, while Winning Rhythm was another three-quarters of a length back in third and paid $3.20 to show.

The victory, worth $34,800, increased Hijra’s career earnings to $72,667, with two wins in seven starts. She had one win in five starts in France.
