GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - The Mount Zion Memorial Foundation is going to dedicate a headstone Saturday on the gravesite of bluesman James Lewis Carter, better known as T-Model Ford.

Ford, a hard-living blues singer who taught himself to play guitar when he was 58 years old and his fifth wife left him, died in 2013 at his home in Greenville, Mississippi.

The grave marker dedication service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

T. DeWayne Moore, executive director of the Mount Zion Memorial Fund, tells the Delta Democrat-Times (https://bit.ly/1jWGEqy ) Estella Ford, T-Model’s wife, will be at the dedication.

Ford’s age at the time of his death was uncertain. Family members say he was 89 but friends say he was closer to 93.

Ford had six wives and 26 children.
