SAN DIEGO (AP) - Authorities say a drug-detection dog sniffed out $1.8 million worth of methamphetamine and cocaine concealed in a minivan at a San Diego border crossing.

U-T San Diego reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/1kQK3r3 ) that the dog indicated possible drugs in the Toyota Sienna crossing from Mexico at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry earlier this week.

An imaging system showed anomalies in the rear cargo area of the minivan. Officers found specially-built containers in the roof and rear quarter-panels containing 122 pounds of meth and 40 pounds of cocaine.

The 70-year-old driver, who is a Mexican citizen and lawful permanent U.S. resident, was arrested. His name was not released.
