CHICAGO (AP) - A University of Chicago Law School student from New Hampshire has died of injuries she suffered in a crash with a SUV going the wrong way on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified her as 26-year-old Laura Anne LaPlante. She was from Hancock, New Hampshire.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports (https://bit.ly/RbAcB1 ) she was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

University spokesman Steve Koppes told the newspaper LaPlante was on track to graduate this summer.

The crash happened at about 2 a.m. Saturday when a SUV traveling against the direction of traffic in the northbound lanes collided head-on with a taxi carrying LaPlante and another passenger.

Both passengers and the two drivers involved were all initially hospitalized in serious-to-critical condition.
