DALEVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Members of a labor union that includes nearly 3,000 workers on strike at Alabama’s Fort Rucker are expected to vote on a new contract offer.

Members of the International Association of Machinists Union Local Lodge 2003 are expected to vote Sunday on a new proposal. If approved, it could end the weeklong strike.

Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/1fYIYYL) that the union will be considering a new contract proposal from L-3 Army Fleet Support, the first offered since members rejected a company offer about a week ago.

Almost 3,000 union members have been on strike since Monday over what union members said were concerns about working conditions, eroding seniority rights and overtime policies.

The contract vote is set to take place at the Ozark Civic Center.
