LISBON, Portugal (AP) - Sporting Lisbon was held to 1-1 at Nacional in the Portuguese league on Saturday, with both teams already locked into a top-table finish.
Sporting went ahead in the 37th minute thanks to Nacional right back Nuno Campos’ own goal.
But Nacional substitute Diego Barcellos struck with 15 minute to play to split the points.
Sporting will finish runner-up and go to the Champions League, while Nacional is set to finish in fifth place and earn a berth in the Europa League.
With Benfica crowned champion and the places for European competition divvied up, the attention in Portugal turns to the bottom of the table on Sunday.
