COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is encouraging people to come out for a bocce tournament benefiting Special Olympics athletes in South Carolina.

On Saturday, the 5th Annual Midlands Bocce Bash is taking place at Thirsty Fellows restaurant in Columbia.

Registration is $350 for a four-person team. Each team gets breakfast, lunch and the guarantee of playing at least three games.

Proceeds from the event go toward supporting Special Olympics South Carolina athletes.
