DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - A longtime civil rights leader, retired U.S. Supreme Court clerk, a TV talk show host and Ohio’s governor are among the speakers this weekend for the state’s newest college graduates.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson took part in commencement services at Wilberforce University in western Ohio on Saturday. A social justice activist since the 1960s, Jackson also ran for president twice.

Retired U.S. Supreme Court clerk Gen. William Suter spoke Saturday morning to the University of Dayton Law School commencement. The career judge advocate who had joined the Army in 1962 became Supreme Court clerk in 1991. He retired last year.

MSNBC’s “Hardball” politics talk host Chris Matthews speaks Sunday at Ohio State University. Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY’-sik) is at Sinclair Community College in Dayton.
