RUSTON, La. (AP) - State police have arrested Shreveport woman they say was involved in a hit-and-run accident.

Trooper Albert Paxton says 32-year-old Coty Willis, of Ruston, was struck and killed early Wednesday morning on Interstate 20 about four miles west of Ruston.

Paxton says Grambling police found the car involved in the accident on Grambling State University’s campus.

Trooper arrested and booked 21 Whitney Gaston-Loyd with felony hit and run.

A passenger in her car, 22-year-old Brandy Adams, also of Shreveport, was booked with accessory after the fact.

If convicted, Gaston-Loyd faces up to a $5,000 fine and 10 years in prison and Adams faces up to a $500 fine and 5 years in prison.

It was unclear whether the women have attorneys.
