OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, a potential presidential candidate in 2016, is set to visit Nebraska this summer to speak to fellow Democrats.
O’Malley will be the keynote speaker at the Nebraska Democratic Party’s annual Morrison Exon Dinner in Omaha on July 26. His appearance in Nebraska will come little more than a month after an expected stop in Iowa, home to the first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses.
O’Malley has served as Maryland’s governor since 2007. He previously was the mayor of Baltimore.
Nebraska Democratic Party Chairman Vince Powers says O’Malley is a “leading star” within the party who has captured the national spotlight.
The dinner will take place at the Embassy Suites Omaha-La Vista Hotel and Conference Center.
