The one who steps into President Obama’s shoes and takes over the executive role at the White House faces an uphill climb, to put it mildly, to bring the nation back to its economic and military glory, said conservative commentator Mark Levin.
“The next president of the United States is going to have a hell of a job not just rebuilding the economy but rebuilding the United States military,” he said during an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity.”
Mr. Levin referenced the announced troop withdrawal in Afghanistan and Mr. Obama’s aims to make foreign policy a mix of military and diplomatic restraint.
“We’re watching a man who’s degrading the United States military from the recruits all the way to the vets,” Mr. Levin said, arguing that the likes of Russia and China are listening — and drawing conclusions from the rhetoric that the United States is basically standing down and disarming.
Mr. Levin also rebuked Mr. Obama’s claim to believe in the concept of American exceptionalism.
“Somebody who wants to fundamentally transform America doesn’t believe America is an exceptional place at all,” he told Sean Hannity.
