MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - A girl was wounded by gunfire while she and other children played during a party in Marietta, just northwest of Atlanta.

Marietta police said the girl was shot shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, when an altercation between two groups of people led to shots being fired at the Cinnamon Ridge apartment complex on Franklin Road.

Marietta police Officer David Baldwin said the girl was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Her name and age weren’t released.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://bit.ly/TWt39d) that the shooting happened near an inflatable bounce house set up in the parking lot for the children’s party.

Baldwin said two people were detained after the shooting. He said they weren’t attending the party. Few other details were immediately available.
