BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The latest edition of the North Dakota Local Food Directory is out and the state’s agriculture commissioner says interest in local products is continuing to grow.
The Department of Agriculture says the directory lists more than 160 farmers markets, roadside stands and home delivery options around the state that offer locally-sourced products. North Dakotans can find locally-grown fruits and vegetables, jams and meats, among other things.
Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says the demand for locally-grown food is growing in North Dakota and nationally and says local farmers are responding.
Copies of the directory will be available at libraries, local chambers of commerce and county extension offices. Those interested can also contact the Department of Agriculture.
