BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania man convicted of murder in a shooting death at a Bethlehem public housing complex is now charged with burglary.
The (Easton) Express-Times (https://bit.ly/1murKWS ) reports that the blood of 18-year-old Lucas Cabassa of Bethlehem was found smeared on the wall of a home robbed of jewelry and electronics worth $1,900.
Cabassa was convicted last month in Northampton County Court of first-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Joseph Rodriguez in June in Bethlehem’s Lynfield public housing complex. He said he acted in self-defense.
Cabassa will be sentenced next month. He was 17 at the time of the slaying and the U.S. Supreme Court has barred automatic life sentences for juveniles convicted of murder.
