GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A steel fabrication plant that began production just north of Great Falls in late January is working to develop a “high and wide corridor” so it can haul the modules it builds to oil fields and other projects in the region and into Canada.
ADF International held a grand opening Wednesday at its $26 million steel fabrication building.
General manager Dan Rooney says the plant employs about 80 people and expects to add a second shift in the next several months. ADF also is building a paint shop.
Rooney says ADF is finalizing a plan with state and federal transportation officials to complete the final 45 miles of a “high and wide corridor” by raising 13 utility lines between Great Falls and Fort Benton this summer. The rest of the route into Canada can accommodate the large loads.
