MADISON, Wis. (AP) - University of Wisconsin-Madison’s police chief says a captain she fired took thousands of photos and video of unsuspecting women over the course of six years.

Chief Sue Riseling says the 17-year veteran of the department also used a work computer to download and view pornography. A letter terminating the captain’s employment says he used department cameras to take pictures of co-workers from under tables and of women on the sidewalk outside his office.

UW police spokesman Marc Lovicott says investigators are in the process of contacting some of the women to see if they want to press charges. The State Journal (https://bit.ly/1pAswnh ) says UW police began an internal investigation in January after receiving a tip that the captain was improperly using university equipment. He was fired in March.
