Cameroon lost to Paraguay 2-1 Thursday in a World Cup warmup at Kufstein, Austria, as the Indomitable Lions rested several top players.

Oscar Romero put Paraguay ahead in the fourth minute and Roque Santa Cruz added a goal in the 68th.

Maxim Choupo-Moting scored on a volley for Cameroon in the 75th minute and Mohammadou Idrissou could have tied the score in the 87th but his penalty kick was saved by goalkeeper Roberto Junior Fernandez.

Cameroon coach Volker Finke did not use Pierre Webo, who hurt his left shoulder when he landed on a bicycle kick that scored the first goal in Monday’s 2-0 win over Macedonia. Webo tweeted medical examinations had shown no severe injuries.

Samuel Eto’o is recovering from a knee injury and did not dress.

Cameroon plays Germany in Moenchengladbach on Sunday, when Paraguay faces France in Nice the same day. The Indomitable Lions are in Group A at the World Cup with Mexico, Croatia and host Brazil.

In Washingon, Mevlut Erdinc and Caner Erkin scored in the second half to help Turkey beat World Cup-bound Honduras 2-0 at RFK Stadium.
