ATLANTA (AP) - Federal prosecutors say 17 members of a Mexico-based drug ring have been indicted on drug distribution and conspiracy charges.

Authorities said Thursday that the suspects were distributing methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine in Georgia and Florida.

Prosecutors say a Mexico-based drug dealer conspired with his brother and his associates to import large amounts of drugs into the metro Atlanta area. Prosecutors say the suspects used passenger buses to smuggle the drugs into the area.

Authorities say 644 pounds of meth, 37 kilograms of heroin, 27 kilograms of cocaine and $680,000 in drug proceeds were seized from suspects in the drug distribution ring.
