HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - A West Virginia man formerly stationed at an Army base in Washington state has been sentenced to eight years and two months in federal prison for soliciting and receiving sexually explicit images of a 13-year-old girl.

Twenty-two-year-old Jon Seth Davisson was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Huntington.

Federal prosecutors say Davisson was stationed with the Army at Joint Base Lewis-McChord when he exchanged text messages with the girl from Cabell County last August.

Davisson admitted he persuaded the girl to take sexually explicit photographs and then send them to him. He was arrested in September at Lewis-McChord.

Court records show Davisson had known the girl for several years.

Davisson is a 2011 graduate of Parkersburg High School and joined the Army the following month.
