RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The U.S. Navy is sponsoring a conference which is designed to convince employers to hire a veteran.
The 4th Annual Wounded Warrior Hiring and Support Conference is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday at the Hilton North Raleigh/Midtown.
Wednesday focuses on employers, with sessions designed to share best practices and innovative ways to recruit, hire, train and retain veterans. On Thursday, the focus is a career fair for employers to connect with veterans.
Also on the second day, veterans, spouses and family members are offered the opportunity to attend workshops on subjects including career assessment and goal setting and how veterans’ skills translate to civilian jobs.
