TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A federal judge in Tulsa has sentenced a former oil company employee to more than four years in prison for embezzling nearly $700,000.

Federal prosecutors announced the punishment for 45-year-old James Rhea Cooley on Wednesday.

Cooley was a former regional human resource manager for Houston-based Newfield Exploration Mid-Continent Inc., which has offices in Tulsa.

After being terminated for a false invoice scheme at Newfield in 2011, Cooley obtained a similar job with ConAgra in Council Bluff, Iowa, where officials say he committed the same crime.

The court also ordered Cooley to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in restitution to his victims.
