TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - A trial is underway for a 25-year-old man charged with murder in connection with a 2012 New Year’s Day shooting death at a Garland City nightclub.
The Texarkana Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1otbD0o ) that a jury of nine women and three men are hearing testimony in the case of James Williams. Williams faces up to life in prison if found guilty of murder in the shooting death of 45-year-old George Eugene Foster following an altercation at G Spot nightclub.
Officials say Foster wasn’t involved in the altercation in the parking lot but exited at the wrong moment.
Prosecutors say James Williams’ brothers helped him flee the parking lot after the shooting.
On Monday, jurors heard the nightclub owner call 911 to report a fight appeared to be getting out of hand.
