SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Police in Springfield are looking for suspects in the weekend stabbing death of a man in a parking lot.

The 59-year-old man was attacked behind several businesses after 10 p.m. on Sunday.

The victim was identified Tuesday as James Goins of Springfield.

The (Springfield) State Journal-Register reports (https://bit.ly/1tOSy91 ) that a witness told police she saw two men knock the man to the ground and steal his car.

The victim started to chase the two on foot before collapsing.

The stolen car was found at a Springfield motel.

Police Lt. Dan Mounce says detectives are still working to determine a motive.
