SYRACUSE, Ind. (AP) - Seven students and two adults have been released after treatment at a hospital after a school bus collided with a dump truck in northern Indiana.

Wawasee Community School Corp. Director of Curriculum Joy Goshert says that after the crash, all of the students returned to the Wawasee Middle School in Syracuse, about 30 miles southeast of South Bend, where they were met by school nurses while parents were notified.

Goshert says the students had been on a field trip to a water park as a reward for working during the school year on positive behavior.

An Indiana State Police report said 59-year-old bus driver Patricia Myers of Syracuse ran a red light, and the bus carrying 47 students and 2 adults struck the truck on US. 30 in Marshall County.
