PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say an armed student who flashed a gun in a community college in Philadelphia is in custody.

Authorities said a 23-year-old man was taken into custody without incident at his northeast Philadelphia apartment building around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

There was no word on what charges the suspect would be facing.

Deputy Commissioner Richard Ross said police were told that a student had brandished a handgun after an argument with another student in a chemistry classroom at Community College of Philadelphia shortly after noon.

Another nearby school was placed on lockdown as a precaution. No injuries were reported.
