Prosecutors in the Columbus suburb of Dublin say 44-year-old Ross Shane engaged in engaged in online conversations with an investigator who was posing as the father of a 12-year-old boy. He was arrested in November 2012 when he showed up for what he thought was a meeting for sex with the boy.

Shane pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempted rape. He’ll be sentenced July 18.
