LONDON (AP) - Uche Nwofor scored in the 90th minute, giving Nigeria a 2-2 tie against Scotland in a World Cup warmup Wednesday night.
In the match at Fulham’s Craven Cottage subject to allegations of attempted match fixing, Scotland went ahead in the ninth minute when Charlie McGrew flicked James Morrison’s shot over goalkeeper Austin Ejide.
Nigeria tied the score in the 41st when Michael Uchebo’s shot took a big deflection off Grant Hanley, but Scotland went back ahead 11 minutes later on an own goal by Azubuike Egwuekwe following Alan Hutton’s cross.
The Scottish Football Federation said Tuesday it was in contact with “relevant authorities” following the allegations. The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported officers from the National Crime Agency were investigating attempts to fix Wednesday’s match.
The Super Eagles play Greece on Tuesday at Chester, Pennsylvania, then face the United States on June 7 at Jacksonville, Florida. Nigeria open against Iran at the World Cup, then play Bosnia-Herzegovina and Argentina.
At Seoul, host South Korea lost 1-0 to Tunisia, which got a 44th-minute goal from Zouheir Dhaouadi. South Korean defender Hong Jeong-ho was carried off with an ankle injury.
South Korea plays its final warmup on June 9 against Ghana at Miami Gardens, Florida, before heading to Brazil, where it plays Russia, Belgium and Algeria.
In Mexico City, defender Miguel Layun scored twice in Mexico’s 3-0 victory over Israel. Layun scored in the 42nd and 62nd minutes, and Marco Fabian added a goal in the 85th. Mexico goalkeeper Jesus Corona sustained a head injury after crashing into Francisco Rodriguez and was replaced in the 70th by Guillermo Ochoa.
In a match involving two nations that failed to qualify, Denmark beat Sweden 1-0 in Copenhagen as Daniel Agger scored in second-half stoppage time.
