BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (AP) - Students in a central New Jersey school district have been told to delete nude photos of themselves and classmates from their cellphones and social media pages or face the consequences.

Thursday is the deadline for Bridgewater-Raritan regional schools students to comply.

The Courier News of Bridgewater (https://mycj.co/SeHO5T ) reports interim school superintendent Cheryl Dyer has told principals to impose five-day suspensions for those who fail to delete the images. In a letter to parents, Dyer also said the district will work with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office to address the situation without filing criminal charges.

The school superintendent in Bernards Township sent a similar letter to parents two weeks ago.
