BALTIMORE (AP) - The Maryland League of Conservation Voters has endorsed Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown for governor.
The environmental group announced the endorsement Wednesday in Baltimore.
Karla Raettig, the executive director of the organization, says the group is confident Brown will build on the environmental record of Gov. Martin O’Malley.
The group also noted Brown’s running mate, Ken Ulman, for environmental initiatives he supported as county executive of Howard County.
The group says Attorney General Doug Gansler and Del. Heather Mizeur, who are running for the Democratic nomination for governor, also have strong records on the environment, but that Brown is best positioned to make meaningful progress on core issues.
