NORA SPRINGS, Iowa (AP) - A Charles City woman has been ticketed for a crash last week that killed a Nora Springs motorcyclist.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/RB79GE ) 23-year-old Stephanie Rae Mercer was cited for the May 21 crash that killed 66-year-old David Crowe.

The Iowa State Patrol continues to investigate.

An accident report says Crowe was riding his motorcycle east on U.S. Highway 18 when he slowed to turn right. The report says Mercer’s sport utility vehicle then hit Crowe from behind, throwing him from the bike. Crowe was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say Mercer has citations from 2007 for following too closely and careless driving and last year for failure to obey a traffic control device.

A phone number for Mercer could not be found Wednesday.
