SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - The Illinois Legislature has approved a measure to allow furniture and other state-owned items linked to Barack Obama to be loaned or given to his presidential library and museum.
The House voted 113-0 Tuesday in favor of the legislation, which passed the Senate earlier this month. It now goes to Gov. Pat Quinn.
Obama served in the Illinois Senate before becoming a U.S. senator and the nation’s 44th president.
The chair he used in the Senate is now housed in Senate President John Cullerton’s office. Other items are in storage.
Obama is in the process of selecting a site for his presidential library.
