MAYSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A grand jury has indicted the former superintendent of a northeastern Kentucky school district following a state audit that questioned spending.
Media report that former Mason County Schools Superintendent Tim Moore was indicted on one count of abuse of public trust over $10,000.
Moore retired in 2012 after auditors found nearly $200,000 in expenses over a four-year period that seemed excessive, lacked oversight or documentation or had no clear business purpose.
The indictment last week says Moore “failed to make the required payment or disposition” of money or property, which was more than $10,000 but less than $100,000.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether Moore has an attorney. He is set to be arraigned on June 13.
