MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) - Amazon says it is adding roughly 500 workers at its fulfilment center in Middletown, Delaware.
The News Journal of Wilmington (https://delonline.us/S9Mo5u ) reports Amazon spokeswoman Rebecca Passo Mikulski says the company is hiring hourly workers including people who pack and ship customer orders. Mikulski says the company is hiring in order to meet crowing customer demand and that the new workers will have full-time benefits as soon as they start.
The company says the hiring will bring employment at the facility to about 2,000.
The Middletown facility, which opened about a year and a half ago, is one of two the company has in Delaware. The other is in New Castle.
