SALINA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 9-year-old boy who disappeared from his suburban Syracuse home has been found safe.
The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department says Tuesday afternoon that Ronald Williams is back with his family after going missing for more than 15 hours. Police say a property owner in the boy’s neighborhood in Salina (suh-LY’-nuh), just north of Syracuse, spotted him in a backyard and notified the authorities.
Police say Williams is being evaluated medically.
The boy had last been seen around 10 p.m. Monday in a bedroom. Deputies say they were told he jumped from a second-floor window and disappeared.
Detectives used K-9 units, a helicopter, and reverse 911 calls in the search.
